Personal Service And Commitment To Clients

Our clients can expect the Law Offices of Michael W. Goldstein to be responsive and genuinely interested in defending each truck owner or truck driver charged with a New York traffic violation. We communicate with our clients on a regular basis. Telephone calls are answered promptly, and ample time is devoted to each client. We believe that our future is linked to the success of our clients. The firm is committed to continually strive for excellence in both legal services and client relations.

If you are a truck driver or owner who has received one or more summonses for truck related offences in New York, we can defend you. When we appear in court to represent you in a trucking violation case, the truck driver and owner will usually not be required to appear in court. This is especially important for truckers who are constantly traveling across the country, and would be unavailable to appear in court on a specific date.

When a truck is stopped by the police in New York for a traffic violation, it is not unusual for the trucker to receive several summonses for multiple offenses. In many instances, the trucker may be unaware that he has entered an area which has size and weight restrictions, and has therefore unintentionally committed a series of traffic infractions. These criminal violations may often carry potential fines totaling many thousands of dollars.

If you choose to defend yourself, your cost of traveling to New York, and your lost income will probably be much more than our legal fees. When we appear in court to defend you, the driver’s and owner’s business is usually not interrupted. Furthermore, if there is a legitimate defense to the tickets, we might be able to get them dismissed. In any event, we can often get some tickets dismissed, and frequently we can negotiate significant savings on the fines of the remaining tickets.

We believe that selecting our law firm to represent you is an intelligent and efficient alternative to self representation. You can trust our law firm to aggressively and effectively defend you, and resolve your traffic violations quickly and in a cost effective manner. We can represent you in many courts of New York State, including New York City, Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, Long Island, Nassau County, Suffolk County, Westchester County, and Rockland County. If your traffic summonses were issued in an upstate New York County, we may be able to act as co-counsel, by coordinating your representation with an upstate New York attorney.

Legal Fees

We recognize that legal services must be cost effective and provide value. Our firm’s legal fees are fair and sensitive to the client’s personal and business requirements, as well as realistic in view of the magnitude of the legal matter.

For trucking violations, the client may choose either hourly fees or flat fees (which are based on one day in court). We are sensitive to the client’s need to keep legal fees to a minimum. Therefore, we use our best efforts to resolve your case on the first court appearance, in order to avoid the need to charge an additional legal fee for a subsequent court appearance. We recommend that the client be accessible by phone when we appear in Criminal Court, so we can discuss the available options in order to resolve the charges without an additional court appearance.
